‘Les Grimaudes’ is a wine made by Marc Kreydenweiss’s wife Emanuelle and shows slightly more subtle and elegant than the domain’s other reds. Still, it’s stuffed with dark and leathery southern flavors ranging from smoky black fruit and garrigue to black pepper and roast meat. On the palate, it is juicy and deep with smooth tannins and a nice bit of freshness.

Description
Hand-harvested Carignan, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre from 50-year-old vines, 15-day maceration and natural fermentation without additions, aging in concrete vessels, bottled unfiltered with less than 20 mg/l of sulfites.
In 1999 Alsatian icon Marc Kreydenweiss purchased two neighboring domains in Manduel (Costieres de Nimes). He had the ambition to apply his biodynamic know-how to a Southern terroir and make red wines from old vine Carignan and Cinsault. In 2007 Marc moved there permanently, leaving his son Antoine to run the domain in Alsace.
