Bonnardot Bourgogne Cote d’Or ‘Clos Botaveau’ 2018


This chardonnay is made from vineyards in Santenay. There has been two weeks of skin contact, giving the wine an orange colour but also a tannic structured. The 30 day skin maceration provides a unique flavour profile. The wine is full of exotic spices and fruits. Lychee, welted flowers, orang skin and dried apricot. The bitter finish gives the wine an interesting structure. Partly matured on amphores.

For orange wines, food will influence the palate in a favorable way. The acidity becomes softer and the fruit even more generous. Combine with spiced dishes, with North African or Indian spices. Drink at 15/ 16 degrees Celcius.
