Louis Antoine Luyt Gorda Blanca 2017


Vinification: Moscatel, Torontes, Chasselas and Semillon grapes from 250 y/o, ungrafted and dry-farmed vineyards on the granitic red clay soils around Guarilihue, Bío Bío. Hand-harvest, natural fermentation without additions (4 days of skin-contact) in tank. Left to age on the gross lees for 6 months, bottled unfined, unfiltered and unsulphited.

Character: Crazy ride of a wine where floral freshness and smokey minerality battle for centre stage. Fresh grapes, white flowers and wet earth on the nose are followed by a crunchy, chewy and almost peaty mid-palate, but the final impression of the wine is surprisingly refreshing.
