Domaine Le Facteur Vouvray Brut Nature: Tight and chalky sparkling wine by Fabien Brutout, made from biodynamically cuddled old-vine Chenin Blanc. Second fermentation induced with fresh grape must, no dosage. Green apples and big fun factor can be described for this perfect start of a long loungy evening.
Queue de Morue Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur Lie 2020: If you like the smell of the ocean, a dip in the sea or a just a thirst quenching white, the Queue de Morue is your wine. Literally the tail of the Cod. The Muscadet is an old grape variety mainly planted near Nantes, along the Atlantic Coastal line. Wines from Muscadet or also named Melon de Bourgogne have a great mineral smell of shells and fresh seafood.
Les Athletes du Vin ‘Vini be Good’ Touraine Sauvignon 2019: Such a refereshing, lemony zesty style. A Sauvignon as it’s meant to be. Al the crispiness goes into this bottle. Drink it chilled to the bone with good friends and good conversation
Clos Roussely Rosé ‘Irreductible 2018’: A rosé from old-vine Pineau d’Aunis (also named Chenin Noir – but not related). Substantial but refreshing. On the palette, it is plump and concentrated, yet light and airy at the same time. A rosé that keeps you wandering, perfect for a long sunset daydream on a bench or in the parc.
Amandine & Quentin Chai ‘Contradiction’ 2018 AOC Orléans: An unfiltered, low intervention blend of Pinot Noir and Meunier. The Meunier, used to be named Pinot Meunier and is a grape mainly found in the Champagne area. The reds from this light weighted, refreshing grapes are becoming more and more populair. Amandine and Quentin are a young couple who travelled around the vineyards of France and Chile, but now back in Orléans, making wine from the family’s vineyards.
Domaine Breton Bourgueil ‘Trinch’ 2017: Any good Loire Box needs to have wines from ‘our’ Paul Breton and Janneke van de Leer. In Vouvray, Bourgueil and Chinon they make bon-vivant wine. Grippy natural Cabernet Franc. Enjoy it with a good plate of charcuterie or fromage and be off to the French countryside for some time.
