Val des Rois Rouge Valreas Villages 2019

Terroir :

The domaine’s vines are mainly on exposed hillsides South-South East, on a slightly stony but very clayey soil. They are trained, fed only with manure compost from sheepfold and conduits in accordance with the specifications of Organic Agriculture. Trellising and natural grassing promote maturity and aromatic expression.

Vinification :

The harvest is manual and partially destemmed to avoid green tannins. All the vinification was carried out without any sulphiting before bottling, hence the rates of very low SO2. Grenache vatting is fairly short, looking fruit. A little longer for Syrah in order to obtain the right tannins. Bottling takes place after one year.

Tasting Notes:

Intense garnet color. The aromas range from black cherry, blueberry and chocolate. The balance between freshness and power, characteristic of the Valréas appellation is present throughout the tasting, accompanied by the finesse of the tannins
