Loire Valley Favourites Deluxe Box

Bring it on, lockdown! Well rather not, of course, but it’s not hard to stay in side when you’ve got these beauties laying around. 6 autumnal but invigorating Loire wines that you really need to sit down and take your time for:
1. Domanie Jousset ‘Bubulle’ Petillant Naturel 2013: Aged and unsulphured Chenin Blanc petillant naturel from Montlouis. All layered and biscuit-y and honeyed and gorgeous, with an uber-gentle mousse.
2. Guillaume Sorbe ‘Argos’ Quincy 2016: Dense but refreshing Sauvignon from beutiful biodynamic vineyards in Quincy. Winemaking is more Burgundian than typical Loire-style, and you taste it.
3. Clément Baraut ‘Le Pitrouillet’ Savennieres 2019: Airy, creamy and crunchy Chenin Blanc from Savennieres. A real beauty, now and a decade from now.
4. Sebastien Cornille ‘La Belle d’Aunis’ 2018: Amazingly elegant but peppery Pineau d’Aunis from near Jasnieres, the northernmost edge of winegrowing in the Loire.
5. Philippe Gilbert ‘Hors Serie’ Menetou-Salon Rouge 2017: Unsulphured but clean-as-a-wistle Pinot Noir by biodynamic guidelight Philippe Gilbert.
6. Domaine Breton Bourgueil ‘Les Perrieres’ 2012: The Bretons top cuvée, ageworthy but highly digestible Cab Franc from beautiful Bourgueil terroir.
