Domaine Marc Kreydenweiss ‘Stierkopf’ 2018

26.30

Blended 50% Riesling and 50% Pinot Blanc from the hillside vineyard which has “complexity worthy of a Grand Cru”. The 40-year-old vines are on hard limestone alternates with sandstone layers, as well as mixtures of clay and sand. Mostly south-facing, bright and sunny.

It opens with a rocky, spicy note like crushed stone, ginger, pepper and juniper berry. Also floral aromas like rose petals, white flowers and sage are lingering. Expressive fruitiness on the palate, assertive minerality accompanies and gives energetic dimension. It gains in complexity and intensity as it airs. The finish is rich, round, and long. A strikingly beautiful wine!
