Bonnardot Hautes Côtes de Beaune ‘Sur Evelle’ 2019

The Hautes Côtes are higher than the vineyards of the Côte and have therefore benefited from higher temperatures in recent years. The plot slopes steeply and is located above a rock face called “Évelle”. Only 800 bottles of the “Sur Évelle” are made annually.

Technical specifications:

Soil: clay on a stony limestone surface

Exposition: Southeastern

Vineyards: 30 year old vines; 0.4 ha

Vinification: Hand harvested and sorted. Fermentation partially in whole clusters, long maceration.

Maturation: 12 months on barrique. The wine is bottled unfiltered after natural sedimentation.

Tasting note:

A juicy and straightforward style. Delicious ripe cherries with some custard and cream. Very smooth tannins. This is a wonderfully hedonistic glass with lots of drinking pleasure.
