Bonnardot ‘Hautes Côtes de Beaune Rosé’ 2020

25.07

The Rosé d’Orches is produced in a limited amount of 600 bottles. The fruits are harvested fat the Hautes Côtes de Beaune vineyards near the picturesque village of Orches. In the Hautes Côtes, the vineyards are on a higher altitude than in the Côte, which gives a cooler exposition.

Technical specifications:

Soil: Clay and lime with rocky outcroppings

Exposition: Southeastern; 440 to 490 meters altitude

Vineyards: 30 years old

Variety: Pinot Noir

Vinification: Manually harvested and sorted. Prolonged and careful pressing of whole clusters. Part of the harvest is pressed immediately after harvest and another part undergoes the traditional saignée method, with a soaking time of 12 to 18 hours.

Maturation: 6 months on barrique.

Taste note

A powerful, gourmet rosé that manages to unfold for hours. A toasty oaked nose is complemented by some butter milk lactics. Withered rose petals and an array of wild herbs are seaming through. The pronounced acidity refers to red currants and sea buckthorn. A very exciting glass.
