Bonnardot Santenay 1er Cru Clos Rousseau Rouge 2019

40.74

Santenay is with Maranges the southernmost appelation of the Côte de Beaune. Bonnardot owns two plots central in the 1er Cru vineyard “Clos Rousseau”. Both plots are demarcated by dry stone walls. Santenay is a bit more rustic than the more northern villages, due to the higher density of the soil.

Technical specifications:

Soil: stony clay-limestone soil

Exposition: Southeastern

Vineyards: 45 year old vines; 0.2 ha

Vinification: Hand harvested and sorted. Fermentation partially in whole clusters, long maceration.

Maturation: 12 months on barrique. The wine is bottled without any filtration and after natural sedimentation.

Tasting note:

Powerful and meaty. Intens, fleshy and concentrated. A masculin wine bursting with dark fruit and toasted spices. The tannins are bold and give a broad structure to the wine. The finish is elegant and delicate, with some playful cherry fruit and remaining on the palate.
