Description

Viticulture

Vineyard on the hillside with 30, and 45 years old vines, the soil is made of clay/limestone.
These cabernet franc vines are cultivated organically and biodynamically.

 

Winemaking

Grapes are destemmed for a 3-week alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeast and no SO2.
Aging in “foudres”, large wooden vats, for 24 months.

 

Domaine Breton

The Breton family has been making exceptional wine in the Loire for four generations. Their vineyards located in Vouvray (Chenin), Bourgueil and Chinon (Cabernet Franc) benefit from the best terroirs and exposition. Pierre Breton grew up in Bourgueil and his wife Cathérine in Vouvray. Today, son Paul and daughter France also belong to the winemaker’s team at this first-class domain.

Breton represents revelating, terroir-driven Cabernet Francs and Chenins. Wines with juice, freshness, and a lot of spice. The rugged French north is tangible in the entry-level collection, but the glouglou factor is complemented by quality without compromise. The bottles are cheerfully decorated by cartoonist Michel Tolmer. An addition to the must-have factor of the Breton wines.
