L’Aurage 2012


Highly pleasurable Bordeaux made on the edge of Saint-Emilion. Ripe and oaky on paper, but in practice, these wines are delicate, linear and full of back-end lift. Hedonistic stuff, but elegantly so.

“Mid ruby with the soft rim. Toasty and cedary oak spice on the nose over spicy blackberry fruit. Dry and almost chalky on the palate, still quite youthful but everything is meshed in to give a refined, rather subtle whole – more subtle on the palate than I expected from that toasty aroma though the oak is still palpable.
