L’Aurage 2016

47.76

Highly pleasurable Bordeaux made on the edge of Saint-Emilion. Ripe and oaky on paper, but in practice, these wines are delicate, linear and full of back-end lift. Hedonistic stuff, but elegantly so.

Jancisrobinson.com (15/11/2017):

Barrel sample although the blend has been made as they do this quite early on.
“Dark crimson. Dark and charry on the nose with spice and vanilla but the sweet cassis fruit still shines and they are totally entangled, and even a touch floral, and a very strong oak charry toast on the palate. Plenty of spice but you can see the dark fruit. Clearly embryonic but you can see the depth and potential. Drink 2020-2029” (JH)
