Martin Conrad
The wines from Martin Conrad are accessible and open. Ripeness or greenness don’t seem to be an issue for the Conrad wines. Especially his Feinherbs and Kabinetts show the pleasure of cheerful and refreshing directness. Well-made wines that show consistency and clarity. His Riesling is terroir-driven as well as pleasurable.
Mülheimer Sonnelay
The Mülheimer Sonnelay is a vineyard in Mosel near Mülheim – the vineyard translate as ‘sunshine and slate’. The biggest part holder is Marx Ferdinand Richter, producing the historic ‘Zeppelin’ Riesling.
The style of Sonnelay is precise and zesty. The lemon citrus en sharp acidity is exactly what a good Méthode Traditionelle needs.
