About Am Stein Würzburg Franken

Am Stein is a family winery in Franken (Franconia). The current owners are Sandra and Ludwig Knoll. They produce, among other things, the world-famous Silvaner from their top vineyard ‘Würzburger Stein’. The muschelkalk soils laced with loam and clay give the Am Stein wines a clean and refreshing minerality. In addition to the Silvaner, the Knoll family also planted Burgunder varieties, Müller Thurgau, Scheuerebe and Bacchus.

Franconia is the most central and continental wine region of Germany. The Silvaner grape is a Franken specialty. The special round Bocksbeutel bottle is typical of Franken.
