Athénaïs de Béru Brouilly 2018

36.49

Supple yet focused expression of Gamay. The nose opens with generous aromas of ripe blackberry, wild strawberry, violet, graphite and a spicy touch that adds depth. On the palate, the fruit is vivid yet composed, carried by silky tannins and a bright, rhythmic acidity. A subtle mineral tension lingers on the finish, unfolding like a landscape with each sip.

The plot is located in the town of Quincié in Beaujolais, on the mountain of Saburin. It is on altitude of 500m, faces Mont Brouilly, has sandy soil with a granite subsoil. The vines were planted in 2000. Fermented with whole bunches in a wooden vat, Aged for 18months in Burgundy pieces. Neither filtered nor fined.
