26.41

This plot is located at the 12th century Cistercian Abbey of Morgeot near Chassagne. The well situated location of the vineyard ensures that the grapes here are the first to ripen.

Technical specifications:

Soil: stony clay-limestone soil

Exposition: Southeastern

Vineyards: 50 year old vines; 0.7 ha

Vinification: Hand harvested and sorted. Spontaneous whole-bunch fermentation with grape yeasts.

Education: 18 months in a barrel without the addition of sulphite or other oenological aids. The wine is bottled unfiltered after natural sedimentation.

Tasting note:

The nose and taste is bursting with ripe and warm spicy fruit. The juice is from ripe, black plums and blueberries and refers to a warm style of Beaujolais. A heart-warming glass with a nice edge. Balanced, but the bite makes the wine just a bit more exciting.
