At Chabrol Wines, we believe that the finest wines are created where tradition and courage meet. We do not play it safe; we collaborate with unconventional, pioneering winemakers who challenge the status quo and produce organic and biodynamic wines with a soul. Do you want to learn not only what is in your glass, but also discover the real story of tomorrow? Then our basic wine course is your ideal journey of discovery.
In four dynamic lessons, passionate oenologist, lecturer, and advisor Michiel Oosterhoff takes you through the most important wine regions, grape varieties, and wine styles. You will learn all the basic principles of winemaking and wine drinking, including classic food and wine pairings and recognizing common wine faults.
“Life is too short to drink bad wine during your wine course.”
The absolute highlight of every lesson is, of course: tasting! Together, we learn what you taste and what words to use to describe it. You will learn to distinguish the most important aspects of wine, assess quality objectively, and – more importantly – understand why a winemaker has made certain choices.
Why this course is unique:
• Pioneers in the glass: You will taste 8 wines (including high-end ones) per lesson. These all come directly from our own range and are imported by us directly from small, independent, and organically or biodynamically farming winemakers. This guarantees exceptional quality and unique stories that you won’t hear anywhere else.
• Gastronomic synergy: The wines are paired with carefully selected bites. This makes the taste experience complete and immediately applicable at your own dining table.
• Recognized knowledge level: In terms of theory and practice, this course is perfectly comparable to the official SDEN-2 level. Therefore, after this, you will be able to successfully take the SDEN-2 exam.
