This vineyard is located at the base of Trois Croix hillside near Santenay. At the top you will find forests and underneath are the vineyards. “Saint Jean” is the name of the little church in Santenay Le Haut, which was built in 1220. The adjacent lots are all named after this church.

Soil: Argilo-Calcaire

Exhibition: Southern

Vineyards: 40 year old vines; 0.45 hectares

Vinification: Manually harvested and sorted. Careful pressing of whole clusters. Fermentation in barrel, without sulphite or other additives.

Maturation: 12 months on barrique.

Tasting note

A refined and delicate nose of white blossom and bitter almonds. A smoky and flinty mineral character protrudes secondly. In flavor the wine is generous and full bodied. The clarity is refreshing, with slight hints of exotic fresh fruit, such as kiwi or jackfruit.
